New show Rhondda Burning

I'll be showing new paintings and reading linked poems at St Paul's Methodist Centre, Queen's Rd, Aberystwyth, on Tuesday, October 10th 2017, at 2.30pm.  Hope to see you there.

On 27 March 2017 six fires were lit simultaneously in different parts of Rhondda, rendering the fire-fighting services impotent.  What prompted this?   Anger... frustration...  testosterone?

     Boys are out late tonight
on Penrhys, Pandy and Bute mountain,
     every twmp and knoll alight:
     Rhondda burning, burning, burning...

Elizabeth asked me to print this:

Just a note to let you know how much pleasure and interest I have gained from your book, 'Ball on a River'. 'Carrion Comfort' has sent me back to GMH's poetry and prose -I have a Penguin, ed Gardner, 'selected poetry and prose'- and I have gained a better understanding of both his work and yours from both. 'Magritte's Window' I just enjoy -I love his paintings and envy you the chance to see an exhibition of his work, even if a splodge of guano spoilt your contemplation of the real clouds. I loved your 'Magritte's Window' with Liverpool dockside painting. Very successful. Yours in Friendship, Elizabeth Darlington
Thank you, Elizabeth. R.
